Congratulations Los Angeles County Volunteers!
The Volunteer Center of Los Angeles and Assistance League of Southern California would like to thank you for your participation and support of CelebrateLA 2008. We hope that your day was filled with fun and excitement. CelebrateLA, the largest volunteer appreciation event ever, kicked off National Volunteer Week 2008.
With event support by Conciertos America Events, Guitar Center and Music Connection Magazine, CelebrateLA featured celebrities, musical acts and luminaries who joined us in honoring and recognizing the volunteer contributions made by thousands of men and women in Los Angeles County.
Celebrities presented CelebrateLA awards as LA's hottest musical guests such as Cristian Castro, Mara, Small Mercies, We are Lions, Orgullo Cafe, Linda Lopez, Ahui and Nydia Rojas rocked the Main Stage.
Some of the day’s CelebrateLA Award winners included Christine Devine for Volunteer of the Year (Media-Entertainment category); Tippi Hedren for Board Member of the Year (Animals-Wildlife category); Frank Chimarusti for Staff Member of the Year (Philanthropic Support category); Sony Pictures for Organization of the Year (Health-Human Services category); CVS Caremark All Kids Can for Organization of the Year (Philanthropic category).
We hope that many of you were engaged by the various non profit organizations that participated in the exhibitor trade show and walked away with a heightened awareness about the services that are meeting the critical needs that exist in Los Angeles.
Volunteers are the heart of a strong community and we salute all the outstanding volunteers in Los Angeles. Thank you for making Los Angeles a better place.
